STATIC EQUILIBRIUM

STATIC EQUILIBRIUM

Static balance, unlike dynamic balance, is a more complex skill in training children with ASD.
Static exercises activate the work of the cerebellum, vestibular system, proprioception, postural control and require high concentration of attention.

For example, children with ADHD cannot keep themselves in place for a long time, even sitting, and are in constant motion.
Teaching such children to perform exercises to develop balance in dynamics (that is, in motion) is much easier than teaching them to hold themselves in one position for a long time.

Therefore, in my training program, at the beginning of the lesson, we necessarily do several static exercises that perfectly increase the concentration of attention in children and make further training even more productive.

What techniques can improve static balance?

1. Lengthen the time of maintaining the pose.
2. Exclude the visual analyzer, which imposes additional requirements on the motor analyzer.
3. Reduce the support area.
4. Increase the height of the support surface.
5. Introduce an unstable support.
6. Introduce accompanying movements.
7. Create counteraction (paired movements).

For children of different levels of preparedness - their own level of difficulty of exercises.

In our video with Gosha and Lenya, the level is hard :) point 6.

If you need help in drawing up a training program for your guys - write, I will be happy to help.

All balance!
