Playing with children with ASD in AFC classes is perhaps one of the most difficult forms of conducting a lesson.
Playing with children with ASD in AFC classes is perhaps one of the most difficult forms of conducting a lesson.
The coach may face:

1. Misunderstanding of the rules of the game on the part of children
2. Lack of understanding of roles, plot
3. Inability to perform the necessary motor skills in the game
4. Lack of communication between children, avoidance of each other
5. Misunderstanding of speech
6. Inability to lose - the appearance of tantrums is possible
7. Rapid loss of motivation

The task of a specialist is to be able to adapt any game and come up with their own, suitable for the level of psychophysical development of a child with ASD.

It is necessary to understand that games are aimed at working out those motor skills and physical qualities that we train. That is, the game reinforces what has been learned.

Types: games with a partner, team, sports, mobile, relay races.

Principles of building games:
⁃ catch up /run away /who is faster /catch /carry/hit, etc.

Games can be used in the preparatory, main, and final part of the lesson, depending on the level of their intensity.

How to adapt and change games for children with ASD?

Adapt to:

1. The level of understanding of speech. A game with simple rules and instructions
2. Responsiveness. We vary the pace of the game
3. Possession of motor skills, coordination abilities
4. The level of development of imagination, figurative concepts
